Currently, I own a consolized MV-2F built by kpj at neotropolis. I acquired this unit in a trade, as I would never directly purchase anything from him. Mostly because of shoddy work, terrible customer service and insane pricing. I'm glad it has a good home now. This unit was sent to Xian Xi of Jamma Nation X for repairs (see my blog), plus some extras. I'm very pleased with this unit because the MV-2F is the most versatile board in the MVS family. Its the only MVS PCB with a built-in memory card reader [MV-IC]. Plus this board also features a socketed BIOS for easy uniBIOS upgrades, a headphone jack with volume control and built in controller ports.
Below is actual video captured from my MVS board by Jamma Nation X:
Below are a few pictures of the unit before I sent it to Jamma Nation X for an overhaul - note the rubber grommets and screws holding the board down. Also, the wiring from the power jack was very thin and run under the legs of some capacitors. Any decent modder would know to avoid this. Also the fingerboard was coated in hot glue with the signal taps exposed.
Here is the unit after the Jamma Nation X overhaul. The first detail you noitce are the aluminum standoffs that secure the board to the base. The hot glue was removed from the fingerboard and the signal taps were moved back under the cover. The on board battery was ditched in favor of a coin cell battery holder and battery. The wiring was upgraded to a larger gauge and an array of LED's were installed under the unit to give it that glow you see in the picture. The stock red LED was replaced with a purple LED. I still have to get it painted or powdercoated. The picture looks much better from the upgraded wiring.
This unit features S-Video, Composite and Stereo Left/Right Audio Output.
I've recently upgraded the BIOS with a uniBIOS 2.3 by Razoola.
